Project Preferences

Editor Style

Fluctus includes two editor styles, a Light and a Dark colour scheme.

The style can be switched in real-time and at any time from the menu above or from the View menu.

To change the default colour scheme for new projects go to General Preferences window.

Grid Unit

Sets the Grid Unit for the project.

The Samples option sets the Grid to a number (see Size) of audio samples.

The Milliseconds option sets the Grid to a number (see Size) of milliseconds.

The BPM option sets the Grid in accordance to the project's Tempo and Beats Per Bar.

Grid Size

Sets the Grid Size relative to the project's Grid Unit.

For example, if we set the Grid Size to 1000 units and the Grid Unit to Milliseconds, the Ruler tick marks are 1000ms apart (1 second).

Grid Offset

Sets the Grid Offset for the project.

This option shifts the zero/start point for the grid by its value in milliseconds.

For example, if we set the Grid Unit to Milliseconds and the Grid Size to 100, an offset of 400ms will look like:

Show Grid

Sets whether Fluctus shows the grid on the Editor View or not.

Tempo

The tempo is the speed measured in BPM or Beats Per Minute. 60 BPM is one beat every second.

Beats Per Bar

The Beats Per Bar sets the number of Beats in a Bar.

If we set the value to 4, each bar will be composed of four beats.

For example, 1 Beat Per Bar will look like:

Metronome

If the Metronome is active, the above slider sets the metronome's gain.

Show Plug Chain

Opens/Closes the Plug Chain drawer.

Playback Speed Pitch Correction

Sets the auto-pitch correction on/off, for the Playback Speed function.

Master Balance

Sets the Master/Global Stereo Balance, post Plug Chain.

Automation Read

When Read is active, the above slider will be inactive and Fluctus will look at the Automation Layer for control.

Controller Write Mode (Fluctus Expert Only)

Off - This mode will turn off the automation write functions.

Write - This mode is an absolute write mode, it records the position of the pan pot controller from the time that playback starts, to when it stops.

Master Gain

Sets the Master/Global Gain in dB, post Plug Chain.

Automation Read

When Read is active, the above slider will be inactive and Fluctus will look at the Automation Layer for control.

Controller Write Mode (Fluctus Expert Only)

Off - This mode will turn off the automation write.

Write - This mode is an absolute write mode, it records the position of the fader from the time that playback starts, to when it stops. It erases any previously recorded automation on the layer for the duration of the automation pass.

Touch - This mode will keep all curves you created, before and after you touch the fader on your controller. New automation will be written while your finger is on the fader.

Latch - This mode will keep all curves you created before you touch the fader on your controller. When you release the fader, it will stay where you last left it latching to the volume level.

MIDI Control (Fluctus Expert Only)

Sets the MIDI Protocol and Controller.

Protocol

Off - This will turn off any MIDI controller communications.

Mackie Control Protocol - Use this to communicate with Mackie Control protocol compliant controllers.

HUI Protocol - Use this to communicate with HUI Protocol compliant controllers.

Baby HUI Protocol - Use this to communicate with HUI or Baby HUI protocol compliant controllers.
