cDSP Gate

The gate reduces an audio signal below a given threshold.

cDSP Gate

Ratio

Sets the gate ratio — between 1.5:1 and 50.0:1.

Note: gate ratios work so that a ratio of 2.0:1 means a signal 8 dB below the threshold is pushed to 16 dB below the threshold (an additional 8 dB of attenuation).

Also see GUI.

Threshold

Sets the gate threshold in full-scale dB - between -70 and 0 dBFS.

Also see GUI.

Attack

Sets the gate attack time in milliseconds - between 0.01 and 1000 ms.

Attack - the time it takes for the gate to open after the signal rises above the threshold level.

Also see GUI.

Release

Sets the gate release time in milliseconds - between 1 and 10000 ms.

Release - the time it takes for the gate to close after the signal falls below the threshold level.

Also see GUI.

Soft Knee

Sets the gate soft knee on/off state.

Analog Detector

Sets the gate detection type - Analog or Digital.

The Analog detection option tends to be softer than the Digital one.

Gain

Sets the gate makeup gain - between -40 and 40 dB.

Also see GUI.
