  • I often host band rehearsal at my house, and certainly can use SoundDesk's AUX sends to feed people's in-ear monitor mixes.

Is there any way to use an iPad remotely to control SoundDesk, and specifically with AUX sends? it would be great to let folks use their iPads or iPhones to mix their own ears.

  • I haven't tried any of these with SD, but hopefully it's a starting point. You could use a Remote Desktop client, such as VNC, but it might be tough on a smaller iPad. I also found Mackie HUI/Mackie Control emulators on the App Store, but the interface looks pretty cramped on that as well. TouchOSC on the iPad could potentially be an option as well. It would require a little leg work to build and/or customize a template.

  • Hi everyone, I've used TouchOSC to build a touch interface for iPad Air (5th generation). It works superbly with SoundDesk.

  • Care to share a preset tutorial?

To use TouchOSC as a MIDI controller, you’ll need TouchOSC Bridge.
You can find a basic layout here.

  • I've submitted a post suggesting that LoudLAB consider adding Mixing Station support, as it seems a lot of pros prefer it to the apps provided with digital mixers.

Another option seems to be OneControl by Infinity Audio (aka DAW Control). I have its basic functionality working using a generic Mackie profile, though some things don't work or work oddly. (With the Pro features for OneControl enabled I see levels for the input channels, but not for the output.)
