  • I am using sound desk 4.9.21 on Mac oSx big sur 11.7.3. I am using the virtual sound driver to mix outputs from Amazon Music, Spotify, farrago, Audacity and other applications. My Audio interface is a Scarlett 4:4. I have used other applications such as ground control Caster That automatically pick up the output from these applications when assigned to mix channels. Sound desk appears to work only by manually setting the output of the music application to the sound desk virtual driver . This Is possible with Amazon Music, audacity et cetera, But there is no function in Spotify to change the output. So Although I have Assigned Spotify a virtual input, it doesn’t get picked up. Instead it goes straight to The main audio output as set by the Mac audio midi setup. Is there a workaround for this? Many thanks, Darren..

  • Hi Darren,
You will need to set SoundDesk Virtual Driver as the default output device in settings.
I hope this information is helpful to you.

  • Many. Thanks! It’s working now 😀

  • @loudlab I'm experiencing Spotify working then not working. I have it set to VD 5-6 in the matrix with it inputted on its own channel with VD inputs 5-6. The first time this happened, I had to delete the channel and make a new one. Recently, it was working fine then unrecognized Spotify midstream for some reason. Spotify was still playing and I had the channel muted on SoundDesk. Signal was still showing at the time I muted then an hour and half later when I went to unmute, the channel showed no signal. I quitted and restarted SoundDesk, switch the VD inputs, and even created another channel to figure this out. I even restarted Spotify and still nothing. I do not know what else could be the problem. Any ideas?
