Audio capture not authorized

  • Hello, I bought the latest version of Sounddesk on Apple Store, after successfully testing the trial version. Unfortunately with this version I am unable to apply effects because no signal passes through it, even after setting the input and output devices correctly. A window appears with the message "audio capture not authorized" which I could not change even after changing the preferences.
    How can I solve? Thanks.

  • Hi SteveVSM,

That means that you did not authorise SoundDesk to access your audio devices.
You can change your security preferences in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Microphone, and add SoundDesk to the allowed applications.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

    Have a Great Day!

  • Thanks, I had to do just this. Since there was no microphone connected or to be activated (the connections were only via usb) I didn't think this was needed. But the thing remains a mystery. Perhaps activating the microphone activates all the inputs that allow audio capture.

  • Yes, that is correct. In the security context, macOS sees any audio device connected to your machine (internal or external) as a microphone.
