Seems to be related to my .sdsk file and plugins. I have added two AUX return tracks. Both of these 2 tracks have one plugin instance, valhalldsp Supermassive (the free one).
If i have the plugin instances bypassed, I can shut SoundDesk down no problem. If the plugins are not bypassed, SoundDesk will crash.
Tried swapping out Supermassive for Apple AUReverb2 instead. Still crashes. Also crashes if only 1 plugin is enabled, not 2.

Using SoundDesk Free Trial for a day, no crashes. All is well.
Buy the license and plug it in. Crashing constantly.
SoundDesk cannot quit without hanging requiring a Force Quit.
