Getting Started
Four steps from a fresh launch to a finished export: set up audio, import files, record, and export.
Prepare your session
After creating or opening a Fluctus project, open the Audio Preferences window via [Preferences > Audio].
Set the playback Sample Rate to match the files you intend to import or create (44100 Hz for CD quality, 48000 Hz for video).
Set the Output Interface to the device used for playback, and confirm that the Main Out options point to the correct Right, Left, etc. channels of your interface.
Repeat the procedure for the Input Interface.
Note: to set the recording input channels see Tool Bar Input Section.
Import Files
Drag and drop any supported file onto the Editor View or Region Finder, or use [File > Import] from the menu bar.
Record
Press the Record button on the Tool Bar, then press Play when ready to start recording.
Pressing Record while Fluctus is in Pause/Stop mode enables input monitoring without recording.
Note: to set the recording input type and channels see Tool Bar Input Section.
Export
Drag the Export Markers to the start and end of the section to export.
For multiple sections, use Markers to set up a batch export (see Export).
Open the Export window via [File > Export], set the format and metadata, and press Export.
Next Steps
- Edit regions in depth. Regions covers fades, splits, transforms, locking, and the inspector.
- Learn the tools. Tool Bar walks through the selection, draw, split, and snap tools.
- Add plugin processing. Plug Chain shows how to drop AU inserts on the project output.
- Batch-export marked sections. Batch Export uses markers to produce multiple files in one pass.
